Marlène Thélusma Rémy

Representative, United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry
 

Marlène Rémy Thélusma, a graduate of the State University of Haiti, the University of Montreal, and Glendon College at York University, has solidified her professional experience through development programs, including Brief Therapy at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto.

After 20 years of teaching at Collège Boréal in Toronto, Marlène transitioned to a new phase in her career. In 2022, she resumed her postgraduate studies in Social Justice, Equity, and Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, reaffirming her commitment to inclusion and equity in the Ontario educational system.

Throughout her career, Marlène has actively engaged with the community. She has held various governance positions, including Treasurer at the Eastern Ontario-Cornwall-SDG Community Health Center, Secretary-General of the Coalition of Francophone Black Communities of Ontario, and member of advisory committees for several organizations.

Her community involvement continues with her role as Vice President of Perspective Humanitarian Aid and as the founding President of the Kay Créole Assistance and Professional Services organization. Marlène is a vibrant example of commitment to social justice, equity, and education within Ontario's diverse Francophone community.
